This story is just....wow. *link.*
I haven't really updated my music in years. Most of the stuff I listen to is from highschool, or earlier. I've only bought 3 cds in the past year. So I'm trying to update my library. (And really wishing I had a bigger mp3 player right about now!)
Anyways. I am in love with Alicia Keys. I had been meaning to get some Metric, finally did. The only song I really liked was Raw Sugar but I am ADDICTED to it. Heh. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I have been feeling bad about my body/looks for awhile. I think it was the jabs in the back from the man who's been calling me beautiful for the past 4 years. So last night I set out to prove that you CAN be thick & sexy. ( Pics. )
There is a possum that lives in our front bushes. He is big as hell. I hope he isn't bothering the bunnies. (Actually the bunnies are pretty 'gangsta,' as Isaiah said, they don't scare easy! They'll stare YOU down.) I did a paper on the pet trade in America, and one of the sites I found was selling a lot of indigenous wild animals as pets. Possums were supposedly 'friendly and easy to train.' The site was also selling raccoons and BEARS. I don't think people take pets as seriously as they should in our culture. They're just objects to alot of people.
I've been so stressed lately. Not sure how to deal with it besides playing a lot of video games. The tub at our house is gross. It's always been gross, will always be gross, and baths are out of the question. But I totally want one now. With candles, liquor, and a good book.
About a year ago I started learning more about evolution. I realized that the earth is a very, very old entity, and life has only appeared very recently. It was so comforting to me to think that no matter how humans f*ck up this world, life will most likely bounce back. There's been near extinctions in the past (over 90% of species died in one case) but it bounced back. My favorite song lyric EVER is Coldplay-- life has really only just begun. But then I find out that the sun only has like 3 million more years. Which is no time in the scheme of things. One of those moments where your world gets a little bit worse, you know?

Amazon recommends books to me. Since I've been reading/wanting alot of popular science lately, that's mostly what it recommends, particuarly stuff about evolution. I checked out the reviews of Warrior Lovers: Erotic Fiction, Evolution, and Female Sexuality.
I don't think I'd spend money on this book but this one person's review was very interesting, especially after reading Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice for All Creation, which talked alot about the myth that females crave monagomy and males are whores. (In reality, females have more to gain by seeking multiple partners, while for males the best way for them to make sure they reproduce is to mate continuously with the same female.)
Anyway. ( Food for thought. )

I was digging through my photobucket today. I've had that since highschool, and there's alot of old/cool shit.
Decided I'd put tiles, etc up for anyone to take if they're interested. They aren't great but I like them better than the traditional lj format. Of course, you'd have to switch to S1 to use them.
